Delhi Police Crack Down on Drug Syndicate: 6 Arrested for Supplying Drugs to College Students

In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police have successfully dismantled a drug syndicate, arresting six individuals involved in the supply of narcotics to college students. The arrests come after an extensive operation targeting drug trafficking from Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, and Thailand to the Capital and nearby areas. The modus operandi involved the use of social media platforms and delivery apps, raising concerns about the reach of such networks.

Unraveling the Drug Cartel:

The National Drug Ring (NDR) played a pivotal role in uncovering the drug cartel’s operations. The first phase of arrests focused on a gang trafficking ganja from Manipur and Thailand. The arrested individuals, Nongmaitham Jashobanta Singh, Thiyam Rabikanta Singh, and Rudransh Gupta, were apprehended, and a substantial 48 kg of ganja was seized.

Ravindra Yadav, Special Commissioner of Police (Crime), revealed, “They further disclosed that they supplied ganja to one of their associates, Rudransh Gupta, and at the instance of accused Nongamaitham, co-associate Gupta was arrested, and 2.78 kg of ganja was recovered from his house.”

Revelation During Interrogation:

The unraveling of the drug syndicate continued as Rudransh Gupta, during police interrogation, disclosed his involvement in drug trafficking for the past two years. This disclosure sheds light on the longevity and persistence of such networks in supplying drugs to college students, posing a serious threat to the well-being of the youth.
